The Florence Freedom is planning to give the first 1,000 fans at their May 23 home game Lennay Kekua bobbleheads. Lennay Kekua is the recently discovered fake girlfriend of Manti Te'o. The Florence Freedom is an Independent baseball team from Florence, KY. Somehow, the Freedom have managed to make the weirdest story in recent memory just a little bit more absurd. MORE: (Fake) questions NFL GMs will ask Te'o From the Freedom's press release: But wait, there's more! There will also be a pretend kiss cam. This is completely real -- non-imaginary -- marketing. It's also borderline offensive. Clearly, the Freedom aren't too concerned by possible public backlash when the reward is national exposure. PHOTOS: Manti Te'o's career highlights Tags
"This will be the best kind of bobblehead a fan could get," Freedom General Manager Josh Anderson said. "Because now fans can make the bobblehead out to be whatever they want it to be."
Yes Freedom fans, the boxes will be empty.
To add to the imaginary fun, section 115 will be blocked and reserved only for fans to sit with their imaginary friends, girlfriends/boyfriends or spouses.
