Kearnan Myall: England calling
Kearnan Myall has been called up for England's tour of South America, replacing the injured Callum Clark.
Northampton star Clark has been ruled out of the tour with an ankle injury, so Myall - who is joining Wasps from Sale Sharks this summer, has been drafted in.
Leicester's Ed Slater has also been ruled out of the tour with a reoccurrence of a tricep injury suffered during the Aviva Premiership final, so England will travel with 31 men to Buenos Aires.
They will play in Montevideo, Uruguay, first against a CONSUR XV representing the South American nations on June 2 before Tests against Argentina in Salta (June 8) and Buenos Aires (June 15).
England coach Stuart Lancaster said: "It's unfortunate for both Calum and Ed that they won't be able to join up with England this summer but I'm sure they will be back and pushing for places next season.
"Kearnan did well in a good team performance against the Barbarians and now has a great chance to continue his progress with us on tour.
"It means we travel with one player less than originally selected but we have lots of options in the second row and back row to cover for that."
Slater took to Twitter to express his frustration at missing out.
He tweeted: "Disappointed to miss out on the tour with injury. Happens for a reason, been a great year and to win Saturday felt great. #onwardsandupwards"
Clark congratulated his former Leeds colleague Myall on his inclusion in the squad.
He wrote on Twitter: "Huge disappointment to miss out on another opportunity to be with the England squad. However, there are lots of players in my position who have had great seasons and deserve their opportunity. It's been a tough year. I have to look forward and get back to playing well.
"Also pleased that my replacement comes in the form of an ex-teammate @kearnanmyall Good luck pal, enjoy it." Source : http://www1.skysports.com/rugby-union/news/12504/8739740/Kearnan-Myall-called-up-to-England-squad-for-South-America-tour
