Bradley Davies: Requires ankle surgery
Wales have suffered a new injury setback ahead of their Six Nations defence after influential lock Bradley Davies damaged ankle ligaments. The 25-year-old sustained the injury while training with the Cardiff Blues and will now undergo an operation - with the length of his recovery period not yet certain. "Bradley will have an operation early next week and an accurate timescale on his recovery will be assessed after the operation," the club said in a statement. Wales must hope it will be a brief spell on the sidelines as they were already facing a lengthy injury list, with Davies his last fully fit lock until this latest setback. The news is the another blow for interim Rob Howley, who will wait on centre Ashley Beck after he picked up a similar problem on Friday. Wales kick off their campaign against Ireland on February 2.
