(Photo: Rob Carr, AP) NASCAR drivers might be prohibited from tweeting during races, but once the checkered flag is waved, drivers are free to let loose — whether it's to celebrate or vent their frustrations. Denny Hamlin wasted no time in venting his displeasure at Joey Logano following Sunday's Daytona 500, beginning with this tweet to Brad Keselowski, who finished fourth: @keselowski sorry I couldn't get close to you cuz your genius teammate was too busy messing up the inside line 1 move at a time The "genius teammate" in question: Hamlin's former teammate Joey Logano, who drove for Joe Gibbs Racing with Hamlin from 2008-12, before joining Penske Racing this year. Hamlin, who finished 14th behind race winner Jimmie Johnson, was not pleased with the way Logano was disrupting his moves during the race by not sticking to the inside line and making it three-wide. DAYTONA 500: Johnson wins Great American Race Clint Bowyer (@ClintBowyer) echoed Hamlins thoughts, retweeting Hamlin and adding a "2nd that" to the tweet. Logano, who finished 19th, wasted no time in responding to Hamlin, tweeting moments later: @dennyhamlin I Remember when you were MY genius teammate. http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nascar/2013/02/24/denny-hamlin-joey-logano-daytona-500-twitter/1944089/%23LoveYouMeanIt But Hamlin, 32, wasn't done explaining things to Logano, who at age 22, is 10 years his junior: @joeylogano inside line was doomed every 3 wide move that was made. Nobody who went 3 middle went anywhere Sunday's race proved there was little momentum to be gained by veering out and going to the middle, and the drivers that tried soon found themselves shuffled further back in the pack with few drafting partners in front or behind them. Time will tell whether the Twitter battle was just a result of this Sunday's frustration or if it will carry over to the next race at Phoenix. There is a week of tweeting to find out.
