Mike Brown
And it is a credit to Brown that not only has he held his own while playing out of position, he now finds himself in the mix to break into the Lions squad to tour Australia.
"I felt I was playing well during the Six Nations even though I was out of position on the wing," Brown told Sky Sports.
"I hadn't played there for a long time so I was always learning which is tough at that level given the quality of opposition.
"However I can't look any further than Quins at the moment. What will be, will be - all I can do is get my head down and keep working hard.
"I would love to get that phone call. As a rugby fan since I was five, I've grown up watching the Lions so it would be a dream come true to be involved.
"It will be tough to get in, though, especially as I have been playing out of position for England. There are a lot of quality players in contention so it will not be easy."
Tough
With selection for the Lions and England's tour to Argentina out of his hands, Brown's focus is very much on helping Quins defend their Premiership title.
The Stoop club, who are third in the standings, now have a final game of the regular season against fourth-placed Northampton before the play-offs.
And Brown is pleased to see Quins return to form at the right time, with wins over Bath and Worcester ending a run of three successive league losses.
"We still have a lot of work to do as I don't think we are quite back where we were earlier in the season," added Brown.
"It is always very tough against a side like Worcester when they have nothing to lose but we have been improving over the last few weeks.
"I think maybe we went away from a few things while our discipline wasn't good enough for a top side. The good thing is that we have started improving."
