Worcester Warriors: Dean Ryan named director of rugby
Worcester Warriors have named former England number eight Dean Ryan as the side's new director of rugby.
The 46-year-old, who was most recently part of Scotland's forwards coaching set-up during the Six Nations, was in charge at Gloucester until 2009.
He will take over at Sixways at the end of the season after the side's final Premiership game against London Welsh.
Ryan's appointment follows the departure of former head coach Richard Hill, who left the club on Tuesday.
Former England scrum-half Hill, 51, took over at Warriors in May 2010 but departed the club with the side ninth in the table with two matches left.
During his playing days as a number eight, Ryan won four England caps and enjoyed spells at Saracens, Wasps, Newcastle and Bristol.
