Deja Vu for Leeds United
As the new season approaches, there is a familiar feeling around Elland Road, a mixture of positivity and negativity. Under new management and ownership, fans were perhaps expecting more by this stage, as for now, Leeds only welcome one new player, Oldham Athletic striker Matt Smith.
While the transfer window does not officially open until July 1st, fans are disappointed by the lack of activity shown by Leeds. It was reported that manager Brian McDermott had agreed with his targets on their moves to Leeds and that he just needed a 'green light' from the owners to successfully acquire them. Rumoured players include some of his former Reading players such as Noel Hunt and Matt Mills.
Other rumoured incoming players included West Brom centre back Gabriel Tamas, Peterborough skipper Tommy Rowe and Crewe Alexandra midfielder Luke Murphy.
In terms of departures, Leeds have yet to see any players leave but with the reoccurring reports that teams are in for hot prospect Sam Byram, it could potentially be a very disappointing summer for Leeds. Should Leeds get rid of 'deadwood' it could give some transfer budget for new potential signings.
With SkyBet Leeds are 16/1 to be crowned Champions this year and 5/1 to be promoted, with the experience that McDermott has, a promotion is definitely on the cards.
