Aaron Shingler says the thought of an autumn Test series whitewash is almost 'unthinkable' ahead of Wales clash with Australia.

A fourth successive home defeat of the campaign next Saturday will see Wales drop out the world's top eight-ranked teams and into tier three for next week's 2015 World Cup pool draw.

And with Shingler's side having lost seven Tests in a row to Australia, the 25-year-old insists next Saturday's game is hugely important.

"Next weekend means everything," said Shingler.

"Everything is on the line. It's important we don't come away with four losses. It's a massive, massive week ahead.

"We've got to be very accurate, very aggressive and look to bully them. A whitewash is almost unthinkable.

"We've trained well every week, our preparation has been good, it just hasn't gone as we would have liked on the field."

Shingler replaced injured Bradley Davies three minutes into Wales' 33-10 defeat to New Zealand on Saturday.
