Ward back on board for Forest

Elliott Ward is expected to go straight back into Nottingham Forest's starting line-up for the visit of Peterborough.

Ward has rejoined the Reds on loan from Norwich for the remainder of the season and should replace captain Danny Collins, who must serve a one-match suspension after his red card in the FA Cup defeat to Oldham last weekend.

Alex McLeish, looking for his first win as Forest boss against Posh, will also include Chile international defender Gonzalo Jara Reyes in his squad after singing the right-back on loan from West Brom for the remainder of the season.

The Scot has also bolstered his goalkeeping options by recalling Karl Darlow from his loan spell at Walsall.

On-loan centre-half Daniel Ayala continues to struggle with a hamstring injury and McLeish will be without the Spaniard for the rest of the month.

"The prognosis for him is that he will be out for three or four weeks. That is not what we need right now," said McLeish, who will check on Andy Reid after the winger limped off against the Latics with a groin problem.

Meanwhile, midfielder Adlene Guedioura is away on African Nations Cup duty with Algeria.

In-form striker Dwight Gayle comes back into the reckoning for Peterborough.

Gayle, who has scored seven goals in nine appearances for Posh since arriving on loan from Dagenham & Redbridge, was cup-tied for the defeat to Norwich last weekend.

Boss Darren Ferguson will also see his squad swelled by the addition of Manchester United pair Scott Wootton and Davide Petrucci.

Defender Wootton has returned until the end of the season having enjoyed a previous loan spell at London Road.

He was kept out of the side by Ryan Bennett and Gabriel Zakuani last time round but Zakuani's involvement in the African Nations Cup is likely to give him his chance.

Midfielder Petrucci has been drafted in on a one-month loan deal.

Forward Lee Tomlin will serve the second game of a three-match suspension while Peter Grant and Kgosi Ntlhe remain long-term absentees.
