Abidal back on the squad list

The French international has been included in the squad to face Celta. It’s the first time he’s featured on the squad list since being declared fit for action on 21st February

Oier and Deolofeu have also been included in a squad that is without Puyol, Xavi, Adriano, Pedro and Alba (injured) and Valdés suspended)

    Eric Abidal is the main talking point of the squad named for this Saturday’s league match away to Celta (kick-off 6 pm). The French international is back in the squad for the first time in more than a year following his liver transplant. His last squad call-up was against Atlético Madrid on 26th February 2012. Abidal was given clearance to play again on 21st February this year.

    Five first team regulars out

    The squad will travel to Vigo without Xavi, Puyol, Adriano, Pedro and Alba, who are all injured. Xavi, Pedro and Jordi Alba returned from international duty with Spain with injury concerns. Xavi, who has a hamstring strain, was able to take part in today’s training session but will not make the journey to Vigo. Meanwhile, Pedro has a damaged left calf muscle and Jordi Alba is recovering from a hamstring strain in his right leg. They have joined Carles Puyol and Adriano on the injury list.

    Goalkeeper Víctor Valdés will also miss the Celta match as he is serving out the third match of a four-match ban. The squad of 19 players is completed with Oier and Deulofeu from Barça B.
