Bellamy boost for Bluebirds

Cardiff striker Craig Bellamy will be recalled to the Bluebirds as they welcome Blackburn to south Wales.

The former Liverpool striker was rested as the npower Championship leaders suffered a shock defeat at struggling Peterborough on Saturday after a busy international break.

The Wales international played 90 minutes for his country against Scotland and then Croatia, two matches which left his hamstrings "screaming", according to manager Malky Mackay.

The Cardiff boss confirmed Bellamy is now fit and raring to go against Rovers as they look to get back to winning ways.

With two games in 48 hours Mackay is likely to shuffle his pack with the likes of Craig Noone, Joe Mason and Craig Conway all pushing for recalls.

Meanwhile, captain Mark Hudson will not play again this season after surgery on an ankle problem this week.

Blackburn caretaker manager Gary Bowyer has no new injury worries as his side travel to Cardiff nervously looking over their shoulder.

Rovers are only two points clear of the relegation zone, but they will be buoyed by the return of Colin Kazim-Richards after a spell on the sidelines.

The Turkish international came on as a second-half substitute in the 1-1 draw against Blackpool, his first appearance in more than a month, after suffering an injury in the Ewood clash against Leeds at the end of February.

A previously lengthy injury list has cleared up, with Josh King and Leon Best also now in contention following lay-offs.

Rovers go into the game on a run of eight games without a win, which includes three successive away defeats, and they are up against the league leaders who recorded a 4-1 victory at Ewood in December.
