Portada de 'L'Équipe'
French paper L’Equipe has published its annual European team of the year, which includes four members of FC Barcelona, Jordi Alba, Andrés Iniesta, Xavi Hernández and Lionel Messi.
The spectacular football of the Barça first team coupled with the success of the Spanish national team at Euro 2012 have helped place four FCB players in the select eleven. L’Equipe considers Xavi’s passing rate to be “close to perfection”, while “Iniesta deserves the Ballon d’Or for what he has done in general”.
As for Lionel Messi, L’Equipe describes his 91 goals in his amazing year of 2012 as “outrageous.” He already has three Ballon d’Or awards to his name and is the favourite to get another one in Zurich next January.
Apart from the four Barça players, the rest of the eleven is formed by Casillas, Ramos, Alonso and Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid); Philipp Lahm (Bayern); Vincent Kompany (Manchester City) and Ramires (Chelsea).
