Lloyd Peers: First contract with Ospreys
The Ospreys have handed promising second row Lloyd Peers with his first professional contract. Peers, 21, is regarded as one of the most exciting young locks in Wales, and he trained with the national squad during the autumn internationals. He has captain Wales and his region at age-grade level, and he has been handed a two-year contract with the Ospreys after a series of impressive performances, keeping him at the club until the summer of 2015. Peers made his debut in the LV= Cup defeat at Exeter last season and he has been thrown in at the deep end this term because of injuries to the first-choice lock pairing of Alun Wyn Jones and Ian Evans. Peers said: "I'm really excited about signing this contract. The Ospreys are my home region and I've come through the age grade system here so this is the next big step for me. "In my position, where there are quality international players ahead of me, I'm definitely learning from the best, people who have been there and done it for the Ospreys and for Wales. "It's a great place for me to learn my trade in the second row." Source : http://www1.skysports.com/rugby-union/news/15190/8373843/Rising-Ospreys-lock-Lloyd-Peers-handed-first-professional-contract
