FC Barcelona and Everton have reached an agreement for Gerard Deulofeu to go on loan to the Premiership club in the 2013/14 season.

The 19 year old has been one of the stars of Barça B in recent seasons, but next season will be plying his trade in England. He will be playing under the orders of fellow Catalan Robert Martínez, who took over at Everton this summer following David Moyes departure for Man United.

18 goals last season

Gerard Deulofeu played 38 games last season, 34 for Barça B and four with the first team. With 18 goals, he was one of the top goalscorers in the Spanish second division.

He made his first team debut on October 29, 2011 under Josep Guardiola, playing half an hour of the 5-0 win in La Liga against Mallorca.

Deulofeu has been at Barça since he was just nine years old, and with his remarkable speed he +has always been the kind of player who makes his presence felt. Two months ago, on May 15, he extended his contract until 2017.

He has just returned from playing for Spain at the U20 World Cup in Turkey, where he scored twice against the United States. He now joins the Liverpool based club that finished sixth in the Premiership last season, narrowly missing out on a Europa League berth.
