Karl Henry completes QPR move

Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Karl Henry has secured a £1million move to QPR.

The 30-year-old has agreed a two-year-deal at Loftus Road, making him Harry Redknapp’s third signing of the summer.

Redknapp told the Daily Mail: "I am very pleased to have him here - it's a really good deal for the club.

'He's a good character and a winner, the type of lad I like. I think he will come in and do a great job for us.

'We're trying to change the club around a bit and Karl's another piece of the jigsaw that can hopefully help us build a team that can challenge for promotion."

Henry’s transfer brings his seven-year spell at Molineux to an emotional and somewhat bitter end.

It was only a matter of weeks ago that Henry vowed to remain at Wolves, his hometown club, and fight it out in League One - English football’s third tier.

Speaking on July 4th He told the Express and Star: "I signed a four year deal last summer so I have got three years on my contract and that tells me my future lies at Wolves."

However, new coach Kenny Jackett appeared to have different plans, and despite Henry’s long term contract he was placed on the transfer list and forced to train with the development squad.

Henry continued: "I have not asked for any of this, it`s not my decision and I would not have asked to go on the transfer list.

'It's a shame that it`s come to this and I'm gutted."

Football is a fickle world, but at 30-years-old this is a fantastic opportunity for Karl Henry to have a shot at promotion once again.
