James Horwill: Facing a second disciplinary hearing
Australia captain James Horwill is still waiting to discover if he will be cleared to play in the series-decider against the British and Irish Lions in Sydney on Saturday.
The International Rugby Board's appeal of Horwill's stamping case has been adjourned by judicial officer Graeme Mew, who has said he will not give his verdict for at least several hours.
The IRB lodged an appeal last week against the original decision that cleared Horwill of stamping on British and Irish Lions lock Alun-Wyn Jones in the first Test in Brisbane on June 22.
Canadian Mew heard testimony and evidence for more than two hours on Monday before the adjournment.
Horwill and Australia coach Robbie Deans left the hearing - held over a video link with Mew in Toronto - and returned to their Sydney team hotel.
The first hearing accepted Horwill's argument that his contact with Jones at a ruck had been purely accidental.
Australia media have been running a Twitter campaign #JusticeforHorwill in a show of support for the Wallabies captain, while the Australian Rugby Union brought in lawyer Steve Cottrell to lead the defence.
However Robbie Deans admits that the matter is out of his hands.
"These hearings are part of the game I guess. When I started my career as a coach, I didn't realise I was going to need a legal background as well!" said Deans.
"It's not something that excites you greatly, but it's an important part of the game."
