West Brom defender Billy Jones is tipping winger Scott Sinclair to make a big impact at The Hawthorns.

The Manchester City winger has joined the Baggies on a season-long loan in the hope of reigniting his career after a nondescript first year at the Etihad Stadium.

The 24-year-old started just three games for City last season after moving from Swansea in a £6.2million deal, but right-back Jones believes he will be a big asset to Albion.

Jones said: "He is very direct, he can go by a man very easily, he has got pace.

"He is quick, direct, what full-backs don't want to play against.

"Typical wingers get at you every chance they can and be positive and that is what he is.

"He can obviously score a goal and create a goal as well, so I am obviously looking forward to seeing how he slots in and what he does."

Sinclair was an unused substitute in West Brom's goalless draw at Everton in the Barclays Premier League on Saturday, but is expected to make his debut as Newport visit in the Capital One Cup.

Fellow new signings Matej Vydra and Diego Lugano could also see plenty of action as manager Steve Clarke considers changes for the second-round tie against the Football League newcomers.

Jones said: "Scott has looked sharp and hungry, which is what you expect. But it is not just Scott, all the lads we have brought in have.
