For months, Johnny Manziel's feed has provided frequent glimpses into the life of a sudden celebrity. As of Wednesday afternoon, @JManziel2 had 332,209 followers. Everything from the Heisman Trophy winner's brushes with pop stars and pro athletes to his spring-break adventures in Mexico seemed to go viral. "But it can also be bad as well, with everything you do on there taken in a different context than what it may be. So it's kind of a double-edged sword." Manziel called something he didn't do "the last straw." After spending much of the weekend away from the social media platform, he said he was surprised to discover Monday afternoon that Ohio State fans were angry at him, thinking he had tweeted insults toward Buckeyes guard Aaron Craft. Although he hasn't suspended the account, he deleted the Twitter app from his smartphone. "I was already flustered enough with it," he said. "When that happened, I was like, 'There's no good coming from it.' I don't want to delete my Twitter. I've met a lot of cool people on Twitter. It's a good way to communicate. But at the same time it's not worth having to deal with this). … I'm just going to stay away from it." For how long? Manziel isn't sure. He promises to return "whenever I feel like it," but said it won't be soon. Like many others, he has become addicted, and spends spare moments scrolling through tweets. "I was thinking, 'Dang, what am I going to do? … But I'll figure something out,' " he said. Like so much else with Manziel these days, the decision became big news. Texas A&M assistant coaches Clarence McKinney and Jake Spavital said they learned Manziel was no longer tweeting from the crawl at the bottom of ESPN's screen.
