QB Robert Griffin III tore two knee ligaments in the Redskins' Jan. 6 playoff loss to the Seahawks. (Photo: Brad Mills, USA TODAY Sports) Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III says he's getting better, an opinion shared by the surgeon who repaired his knee ligaments in January. In a lengthy text to ESPN's Trey Wingo, published on Twitter, Griffin hints that the shared blame over his injury in a wild-card loss to the Seattle Seahawks has at least been discussed and agreed upon within the organization. Wrote Griffin: "My knee is getting better every day. The doctors say I'm ahead of schedule. My goal is to return healthy in week one but if I'm not ready then i will wait until i am, however long that is. SHANAHAN: Coach's tame assessment of RGIII "My first NFL season and my injury that ended it showed me a lot about the league, my team and myself. i know where my responsibility is within the dilemma that led to me having surgery to repair my knee and all parties involved know their responsibilities as well. I m looking forward to playing the game we all love so much again and not behind at the negative. thanks for the overwhelming level of support that i've received, sic em bears and hail to the redskins!!" Griffin's surgeon, James Andrews, said last week Griffin's recovery has been nothing short of "superhuman." Andrews was at the center of controversy as Griffin hobbled through the loss to Seattle, insistent on playing through a knee sprain before ultimately tearing his ACL and LCL in the right knee as Andrews and coach Mike Shanahan stood by. All parties are unsure if the 2012 offensive rookie of the year will be ready for this year's regular-season opener. *** Follow Robert Klemko on Twitter @RobertKlemko PHOTOS: Best of Robert Griffin III Story Highlights
