ORLANDO — Tiger Woods asserted himself again on one of his favorite courses, climbing to the top of the leaderboard Saturday at the Arnold Palmer Invitational.

A return to No. 1, for the first time since 2010, is 18 holes away.

    Woods, a seven-time winner at Bay Hill, shot a third-round 6-under 66 to grab the 54-hole lead.

    LEADERBOARD: Arnold Palmer Invitational

Woods offset one bogey with five birdies and an eagle to get to 11-under par overall.

"I hit a lot of good shots, and I made a lot of putts," Woods said.

Woods is 51-4 on the PGA Tour with at least a share of the 54-hole lead, and he is 41-2 when he has the outright lead going into the final round.

Second-round co-leader Justin Rose (72), Rickie Fowler (67) and John Huh (71) were two shots back. Fowler will be paired with Woods on Sunday.

Another shot back were Thorbjorn Olesen (66), Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano (68), Jimmy Walker (70), Ken Duke (70) and Bill Haas (73).

Woods, who is going for his third victory of the season, will reclaim No. 1 in the world if he wins.
